2023-2024 CLUB SEASON

 

Tentative date for Parent Meeting

 Monday, October 23rd at 7 pm in the High School Small Auditorium.  Registration Link will OPEN after the parent meeting.

Tentative tryout dates

 Grades 5-8 will try out on Monday, November 6 in the Fieldhouse.

Grades 5-6 - 5:30 pm (arrive and check-in 5:15 pm)

Grades 7-8 - 7 pm (arrive and check-in 6:45 pm)

Grades 9-12 will try out on Monday, November 13 at 7 pm in the High School Gym. (arrive and check in at 6:45 pm)

December - March - Club Volleyball Season

Lifting Program

 

Dates: June 6- August 3, Tuesdays & Thursdays (Except July 4).

Location:  Becker High School weight room

A comprehensive weight training program designed to build total-body strength appropriate for different age levels. This program is being designed with the help of Becker Athletic Trainer, David Kimmer, Physical Therapist, Patty Lindbom, and Kyanna Marx, who has 4 years of lifting experience.  This camp is for girl volleyball players entering grades 7-12 in the 2023-24 school season. 

Strength camp $60 per player + camp t-shirt

This camp will focus on weightlifting and isometrics, strengthening each player's muscles and tendons to better prepare for the plyometrics camp.  Grades 7-9 will focus on building strength by doing bodyweight and isometric workouts.  For example, bodyweight squats, pushups, etc. Grades 10-12 will be doing a mix of isometric and weightlifting exercises.

Plyometrics camp $60 per player

This camp is for girl volleyball players entering grades 7-12 for the 2023-24 school season.  Players can only sign up for this camp if they have completed the strength camp.  The Strength Camp is a prerequisite, as starting plyometrics without strong muscles, joints, tendons, etc. can increase the risk of injury.  This camp will focus on improving speed, agility, and vertical jump.  The players will walk out of this camp with an improvement in their overall athleticism.

SAND VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

 June 5-28, Mondays and Wednesdays - Becker Baptist Church

7th and 8th grade - 10am-12pm

9th-12th grade - 12pm-2pm

This camp is for girls entering grades 7-12 for the 2023-24 school season.  To register, players will need to have played 1 club or school volleyball season.  League teams will be structured 4-on-4 and 2-on-2, depending on their age/skill level.  They will receive one hour of league-style play in a competitive setting.  On the last day of the league, we will host a tournament.  Details to follow!  This camp will focus on ball control, communication, conditioning, reading, and teamwork skills.  We will play rain or shine UNLESS there would be a severe weather threat, then we would send out communication canceling.  Parents you will know the exact times once registration closes and teams are formed, we will email out a schedule. 

What to Bring: Water bottle, sunscreen, appropriate clothing for the weather, a small snack, socks, or sand socks (can be purchased on Amazon) the sand can get VERY HOT!  

Cost:  $120 per player + camp t-shirt

BEGINNER SKILL CAMP - July 10-13  (Mon-Thur)

This camp is designed for girls entering grades 4-8 for the 2023-24 school season that have minimal or no volleyball experience.  Training will cover each fundamental skill of volleyball- serving, passing, and hitting. Players will be given coaching and training that will provide a strong foundation in the sport of volleyball so that they will be able to go into their next season feeling more confident in their form and mechanics. The goal is to provide a fun learning experience that will foster a passion and love for the sport of volleyball for years to come. 

What to bring:  Players can wear comfortable clothing such as athletics shorts or spandex and a t-shirt, tennis shoes, volleyball knee pads, and bring a water bottle.

Time:  5pm-6:30pm

INTERMEDIATE SKILLS CAMP:  JULY 10-13TH (Mon-Thur)

This camp is designed for girls entering grades 6-8 for the 2023-24 school season.  Focusing on ball control.  Players will need to have had 1+ years of JO/club volleyball experience to register for this camp.  Training will cover each fundamental skill of volleyball- serving, passing, setting, and hitting.  Players will be given coaching and training that will build on foundational skills and improve form and mechanics.  The goal is to provide a fun learning experience that will challenge players to fine-tune their skills on the court.  After completion of the camp, players will be prepared to advance to the next level and look more at the strategic and tactical aspects of volleyball.

ADVANCED SKILLS CAMP:  July 24th-27th Mon- Thur 

This camp is for girls entering grades 7-12 for the 2023-24 school season, Advanced players ONLY!  Focusing on advanced skills.  Players will need to have played 3+ years of JO/club or school volleyball experience and have good ball control skills.  Training will cover- serving, passing, setting, and hitting- along with focusing more on the sport's different strategic and tactical sides.  Players will be given coaching and training on offensive play options and defensive strategies.  There will be a focus on court vision and reading the opponent and different game-like situations.  Players will also work on advanced moves such as quicks, jump serves, roll-out dives, pancakes, etc.  The goal is to provide a fun, but challenging learning experience that will greatly help athletes at, or preparing for, the B-squad, JV, and Varsity levels.

Time: 6:30 pm-8 pm

VOLLEYTOTS - Pre-K - 3rd Grade

August 7-10, Mon-Thur

Introduction to volleyball. Focus on having fun on the court and using balloons, light volleyball, and games to foster a love for being on the court. Girls will learn important skills such as hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and the basic skills of volleyball.  

What to Bring:  Players can wear comfortable clothing such as athletic shorts, spandex, t-shirt, tennis shoes, volleyball knee pads, and bring a water bottle.  

Times:  5-6 pm

Location:  Becker Primary Gym

Youth Skills Camp & Youth Night Varsity Game

 

2-week skills camp during October, times to be determined. Last night of camp, all players receive free admission to the Varsity home game, followed by a meet & greet with the team.
